Learn to scuba dive in Cyprus with the PADI Open Water Diver course at Dive Cypria.
This is the world’s most recognised scuba certification—and your gateway to diving anywhere in the world.
With small groups, calm conditions in Protaras, and a human-centred teaching approach, you’ll learn at your own pace and build real confidence in the water.
By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with the abilities and information needed to dive domestically or abroad and represent the underwater environment.
You’ll start by learning the fundamentals of scuba diving—how to use your equipment, how to control your movement underwater, and how to stay safe and relaxed in different conditions.
Training begins in calm, shallow water where you can practice at your own pace. Once you feel ready, you’ll complete four open water dives in the sea, building your confidence step by step.
Once certified, you can dive anywhere in the world up to 18 metres. Many divers continue with Advanced Open Water or specialty courses.
All training takes place in the clear, calm waters of Protaras, one of the best locations in Cyprus for beginner divers. Sites like Green Bay provide ideal conditions for learning safely and comfortably.
Until you feel comfortable, practice using your scuba equipment in a pool or other water-like setting. Before performing four dives in open water, PADI training includes practice “mini dives” to assist you gain confidence in your new skills.
Prerequisites: able to swim and in good enough health to dive
4 days total time commitment
Age requirement: 10 years or older
Expect shallow dives (12 m/40 ft) with a maximum depth of 18 m/60 ft.
